9 days until Christmas and 20 days until we set sail on the Carnival Horizon, we can't wait!! I am a lot less organized for this trip than I was the first time we took the kids on a cruise, I have my lists made but once we get through Christmas next week I know it will be full speed cruise prep time. Our family and another family that is joining us will be heading to FLL on Jan 4, and then we leave the Port of Miami on Jan 6, returning on the 12th. The kids check this cruise countdown daily :)
As you can imagine, there are a lot of logistics that go into planning this trip, especially with so many people going (5 families including ours)! We were able to link three of our reservations together so we can dine at the same time each evening and that will also allow the cruise staff to know we're traveling together. When we arrive in FLL we will be staying at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort Friday night and Saturday night, then traveling to the port Sunday morning. We've reserved the supershuttle for when we get in Friday night, and are working on securing transportation back from the Port to the FLL area on Jan 12th. All of this led me to something that I never knew before...did you know that you can book a hotel room for the day?? Not an overnight, just for 6-8 hours during the day! I had no idea until we called the Residence Inn in FLL and asked if they booked day rooms and the operator told us to book through Hotelsbyday.com. I was super skeptical, but turns out it is really a thing and we've booked a room for $95 for the day of Jan 12 since we'll be off the boat by 10am and our plane doesn't leave until 6pm that evening.
More to come as we get closer to our travel but in the meantime, have you ever been to Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort? Have you ever heard of Hotelsbyday.com?? I'd love to know your experiences with both!
